Grown in Grey is an agricultural based educational event that is held away from the classroom. The usual venue is an arena. This allows the accomodation of a large number of children and different learning "stations".
The objective of Grown in Grey is to further educate children, specifically those in grade five, about what is happening in agriculture and related industries in our region. Grown in Grey is run by a group of core volunteers and is a not for profit organization. This event is made possible by the co-operation of a large number of organizations, commodity groups, farmers, educators and individuals interested in the many facets of agriculture.
Over the past 20 years we have had over 11,000 Grey County students visit our event and each of them came away with a better understanding of agriculture and how it is part of the fabric of Grey County.
We were very disappointed to be forced to cancel Grown in Grey last year because of the severe mid-April snow storm. However, we are excited to have plans in place for 2019 and look forward to welcoming you to the Desboro Community Centre located at 136205 County Rd. 40 on April 16 & 17.Registration
